Cooking Together is well underway with a full contingent of 10 participants.  We meet on Fridays and at our '@u3a' sessions have learnt how to make lemonade scones, both sweet and savory and a quick version of curried sausages.  We even had a delicious self-saucing pudding for dessert.
Orientation session at U3A - 'Lemonade' scones - Friday 17 July

Every second week we are going to FCJ to join their Year 11 Community Service students.  We had a great few hours preparing and cooking Red Thai curry soup with a toasted sandwich accompaniment at our first session on Friday 24 July.   FCJ has a wonderful facility, and we are looking forward to visiting them again during August.

“Are you adapting to — or simply tired of — cooking for one? ‘Cooking Together’ offers fresh inspiration for creating meals that are nutritious, tasty & easy to prepare. You will gain hands-on experience in planning, preparing, cooking and sharing lunch in a relaxed and supportive environment. Along the way, you will build confidence in the kitchen, cooking with the students - exchanging tips, avoiding common cooking mishaps, and enjoying the social experience of cooking together.

Held at FCJ, this intergenerational course will be delivered in collaboration with the Year II Certificate III in Community Services Work teacher and students, creating a warm and engaging opportunity for learning, connection and shared enjoyment.

There will be a $10 contribution towards the cost of meal each session.”
