Returning to the car park, we then followed the same route, but this time along the Mokoan Ponds track below the Dam Wall. Keen photographers were able to take close ups of the Waterbirds.
After a further short walk beside the Channel, we drove on to the Mokoan Café for a welcome lunch and a chat. A large group of Bird Watchers soon began to fill the table next to us, so the Café was quite busy.
After lunch, we drove on to the Duck Pond, where more Waterbirds, including Black Swans, have settled. A short but careful stroll along the levee bank provided more views of the Pond. The mild weather this month meant we were all able to enjoy a day’s outing in Nature.
