September 2 - Mt Meg Reserve, Chesney Vale

The proposed September Easy Bushwalk in Reef Hills will now be held in October (see below). For September, we will now visit the Mt Meg Conservation Park at Chesney Vale. This 8,700 Reserve, off Chesney Vale Road, is an area of protected local bushland and rocky outcrops, supporting Native flora, fauna and is popular with Birdwatchers. Departing Benalla car park in the morning, the plan is to drive out to the Winton Café to meet and perhaps car pool, as the short track into the Reserve is quite rough. Bring morning tea to enjoy on the way, but as we are close to Winton Café and meet back there after our walk, everyone has the option of buying lunch.* (Numbers needed for booking).
Meet at our usual spot behind the CFA station at 9am, for a 9.15am start.

October 7 - Reef Hills

The October walk in Reef Hills will be a repeat of the 7-8km walk we did several years ago. Once again, we will be guided by Angela Stratton, who knows this Park like the back of her hand. This walk will take us along a series of bush tracks, where we should still find some colourful Wattles and a few Wildflowers. Morning tea will be along the way, so be prepared. Bring all you may need during the day.  Lunch will be back at the Picnic Shelter.
