May - Delivery of our quilts to Moira Kelly's Office...

28/5/2018

On 15th May, Margaret, Beth and I, with Tom as our chauffeur, delivered our quilts to Moira Kelly’s Personal Assistant, Marilyn, in Whittlesea. She was overwhelmed by the number and beautiful work in the quilts presented. Thank you to all who were able to contribute.

    Patchwork and Craft

The Patchwork and Craft group meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday from 1 to 4 pm.

It is a group for members with  skills in patchworking, quilting and other crafts who enjoy the support, encouragement and company of others as they complete existing projects and take on new challenges,  Other crafts brought along include needlework, knitting and crocheting projects. .

Although it is not a beginners' course, if beginners come along with a project they would like to complete, they will be supported by group members.

    Beginners 2019

Taught by experienced quilting teacher Heather Sloan, the  Patchwork for Beginners course in 2019 covered the basics of patchwork and quilting whilst making a small panel.  Participants proudly displayed their Christmas panels at the end of the course.

Inspired by the Patchwork group, showcasing the creativity of patchworker Heather Sloane and featuring contributions from various patchworkers' 'stashes' of materials, our eyecatching banner graces and enlivens the U3A Office at the Benalla Seniors and Community Centre.  It is a wonderful conversation starter.  Thank you so much Heather for developing such wonderful concepts in fabric for each of our groups!
