My first perceived impact with human Pheromones (perceived being the operative word), was in Perth in around 2014.
While waiting in line at the coffee shop, a middle aged woman bustled in front of me to join her gossip group, a gaggle of similarly attired and middle aged women on table 14. Keeping the gender balance was the token male trying desperately to hide his perplexity.
I digress….
Something wafted over me, I felt this lady was my closest friend. I had the strongest desire to touch her arm and talk with her.
When I got back to the table, I told Irina who's immediate response was "Go ask her what perfume she is wearing".
So what has this got to do with hugging trees? Years earlier I was driving with the kids and my then wife to an important event. I needed to point Percy putting it politely, stopped and headed for the trees.
Standing by a grand old eucalyptus, I had a similar experience, falling in love with the bush landscape and the tree.
I could have stood there alone for ages. but for the impatient car horn.
